What is Barre fitness?
Barre is a combination of a variety of popular exercises, including Pilates, Ballet and Yoga.
Our Baltimore Barre class will get you toned through a process of low weight and high repetition-creating muscle fatigue. Get used to feeling “the shake” as you utilize your body weight through a series of small movements and isometric holds. You’ll squat, curtsy, plié, lunge, and plank your way to a toned body! Results can be seen after just a few sessions. All of our classes are set to fun and exciting music playlists, so you’ll stay focused and motivated to push through the burn.
What should I wear to a Barre class?
The best part about our barre studio is that you need bring only yourself, ideally in comfortable athletic clothing that will give you a wide range of motion.
It’s also a good idea to wear socks with padding on the bottom, so you won’t slide on our hardwood floors. Shoes are not typically worn for Barre.
What results can I expect from taking a Barre class?
Barre fitness classes are designed to facilitate lean muscle growth and endurance. After spending some time in the program, you will begin to develop toning in both your upper and lower body, as well as your core.
On top of that, you’ll feel an increase in your flexibility and balance. Barre is not only an excellent workout for everyday health, but also an excellent primer for sports that require flexibility and muscle endurance.
How many times a week should I take a Barre class?
For beginners, we recommend one to two classes per week, with a gap in between so your muscles can recover. Seasoned veterans and athletes can move up to 3-4 classes per week depending upon your own personal fitness goals.
